How to plant the seeds:

  • The large black borage seeds can be sown directly into the ground or in seedling/planting trays.
  • Sow the seed right where the plant will flower because the plant has strong roots and does not always do well when transplanted.
  • Water well.
  • Soil that drains well is preferred.

Borage (Borago officinalis) is an annual and medicinal plant.  This bee magnet is also known as burrage, common bugloss, bee-bread, bee fodder, starflower, ox’s tongue, and cool tankard. It is in the flowering plant family Boraginaceae and is native to the Mediterranean region.

The leaves, flowers, and seeds of the plant can be used.
