The subtropical Jacaranda mimosifolia tree is indigenous to south-central South America, but due to its lovely and enduring violet blossoms, it has been widely planted elsewhere.

The tree can grow up to approximately 22m in height.

The Jacaranda tree produces an amazing flower display. Gorgeous violet-blue blooms and soft, fern-like foliage. In late spring to early summer it is blanketed in an abundance of lavender-blue trumpet-shaped flowers held in 20 cm long clusters.

In some areas of Queensland, Australia, and South Africa, the Jacaranda Tree is considered an invasive species because it can outcompete native species BUT to still enjoy its beauty, the tree can be planted in large containers or be grown as a bonsai.
